She picked it up and was highly surprised to find out that she was selected in one of the companies. And at the same time her phone ringed. A call from an unknown number.
“Congratulations for your job Shalu.” Said a familiar voice.
“Maa, is it you?” She asked.
“Yes. I’m really very sorry for whatever happened in the past 24 hours. I apologize for that. I was afraid that you won’t pick my call or would disconnect
after recognising my voice. But I am glad that you didn’t.” Her mother in law said.
“I am sorry Maa.” She said with a heavy throat, “I am very sorry.”
“Shalu, no my love, don’t cry. Let’s forget that. I’ve a surprise for you. Just disconnect this call and open the main door. Go.”
“Okay.” She said and disconnected the call and went to open the door. As she opened the door, she found a 7 feet tall teddy bear with a sorry card stuck on it.
She smiled and as she picked it up to take it inside, she saw Akshat standing behind it, with some posters in his hands.
He stood silently, just looking at Shalini. He kept on putting the posters aside as
Shalini read them, by looking at her expressions.
The first one read, “I’m really very sorry my love.”
The second one read, “Yesterday, it wasn’t the Akshat you love.”
The third one read, “But definitely the idiot Shalini I love.”
Fourth, “I don’t know if you can ever forgive me for that.”
Fifth, “But the thing I know for sure is,”
Sixth, “That i will always love you.”
Seventh, “For I once loved a girl with broken heart, so”
Eighth, “Why can’t I love a girl with a broken tooth.”
Shalini kept smiling while reading all that, with tears in her eyes.
The nineth one read, “And you’ve lost neither your spouse nor your dream.”
Tenth, “your teddy is here to give you your sorry card from my side and your
appointment letter.”
Shalini looked at him in amusement. Akshat smiled and nodded his Head. Shalini opened the card and found an envelope in it. And there it was, her appointment letter.
As she took her eyes off the letter she saw Akshat down on his knees, with the ring in his hand.
“I know it was my fault but I deserve forgiveness, for I love you a lot.” He said.
Shalini kept her hand on her right cheek and said, “I know, I saw.”
Akshat put his head down and with a heavy throat he said, “I am very sorry.”
Shalini looked at him. “Akshat are you crying? Hey, listen, I was kidding Mr. I know it was my mistake. Get up.”
Akshat got up and Shalini hugged him.
Understanding is a sign of maturity and avoiding the misunderstanding is a sign of true love.
