The Most Awaited Call

I went back to my room with Eddy, I now had her number, a wide smile on my face and a unique kinda happiness.

After entering the room, I saw all the drunkards still sleeping. I went to the bathroom, took a bucket of water and threw it on each one of them.

“Wake up drunkards or we’ll miss the flight.” I shouted.

“What time is it?” Navneet asked.

“Almost noon.” I said.

“Oh! Let’s go then.” Aman said.

We all looked at Aman and started laughing.

2 Days Later

I had her number, but I still was hesitant to call her. She left without even saying a goodbye.

“What if she don’t want to talk to me now? What if she’s like ‘What happens in Goa stays in Goa.’ What if she wants me to do a search for her?” Thousands of thoughts kept running in my mind while my eyes were stuck to my mobile screen.

I looked at the time, “21:42”. “You can’t call a girl after 10 when you’re calling her for the first time. 18 minutes are left, make a decision damn it!” Thoughts were running through my head for the past one hour but somehow my mind was unable to make a clear decision. I searched her on Facebook and Instagram, but she was no where to be found.

Another Love Story: Just Me And You

The series of thoughts kept on going on, and I looked at the screen, “21:57.”

“Hurry up Adi, make a decision fast.” I said to myself. And then a notification popped up, “Battery 4% remaining.”

Time was running faster than Usain Bolt that night. And before I could make any decision, my time was over, “22:00”, the clock was showing. I got up, “Time to leave the balcony, let’s get some sleep now.” My eyes were tired by staring the screen for past one hour.

As soon as I got up, and was about to enter the “No Network” zone, my bedroom, my phone rang, call from an unknown number. I went out to the balcony and picked up the call.

“Hello?”

“Hi! Am I talking to Aditya?” The voice over the call asked.

And with the voice I was damn sure it was she, same magic in the voice, but I just couldn’t believe it, an angel called me, and I was listening to that soothing voice again.

“Hello?”

“Yeah. I’m Aditya. And who am I talking to?”

“Haww.. You forgot my voice this fast.”

“Damn! I can’t ever forget this sound which seems like music to my ears. I was just confirming so that I don’t start to flirt with someone else.”

“Hahaha!! You’re crazy.”

“Crazy enough to fall for you!”

A simple, sweet and sober love story: And That’s How It Was Meant To Be

“So, you flirt like that with everyone or I’m special?”

“I told you, I was confirming that it was you so that I don’t start to flirt with someone else, because now that I’ve flirt with you, I can’t degrade my level by flirting with someone else, because no one is better now.”

“Overwhelmed and speechless.”

“Haha! Alright. So what was the reason to leave so abruptly, without even saying a bye?”

“I had to catch my train early in the morning. So I just wished Piya and Krish in the morning and left.”

“Oh! Okay.”

“Yeah. And I was continuously wishing that you’d call me. But you didn’t. So I asked Piya for your number and called you now.”

“Thank god!”

“Why didn’t you? Egoistic huh.”

“No. I’m not egoistic. Actually, I wanted to call you but…”

And my phone went dead. I ran to the bedroom, searched for the charger and ran back to the balcony and put the phone on charging. For the two minutes, the phone took to restart after connecting the charger, were the most restless two minutes of my life. I was continuously praying that she don’t get angry over this and she pick up my call now.

As soon as the mobile turned on again, I dialed her number.

“The number you’re trying to reach is busy. Please call again later.” The computerized voice said.

“Has she blocked me now? Is she pissed off with me? Oh God! this battery problem. What next? Gosh!!!” I thought as I started to pull my hair.
